Position Overview
Confidential Client, a large healthcare organization, is hiring an Associate Network Engineer to support enterprise network operations. This is an entry-level, operational networking role focused on fulfilling service requests, performing planned configuration changes, and maintaining network documentation. The position is approximately 90% remote but requires candidates to live within about one hour of a major medical center, possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, and have access to a reliable personal vehicle for occasional on-site work.
Key Responsibilities
- Fulfill network-related service requests via ServiceNow, including standard changes and provisioning tasks
- Assist with support and maintenance of LAN/WAN infrastructure across multiple sites and care environments
- Perform planned network configuration updates under established change-management procedures
- Support routing, switching, wireless, VPN, and related network services in a primarily Cisco/Infoblox environment
- Assist with DNS and IP Address Management (IPAM) administration and documentation
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, procedures, standards, and configuration records
- Collaborate with network engineers, IT teams, vendors, and site stakeholders to complete operational work
- Provide operational support for hardware replacements, upgrades, and lifecycle activities led by senior engineers
- Participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule after training and onboarding
- Develop troubleshooting skills through mentorship and hands‑on activities
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Networking, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent experience (2 years of related work may substitute)
- 0–2 years of professional experience in networking, IT support, or related roles
- Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, basic routing and switching, VLANs, WAN/LAN technologies, wireless fundamentals, VPN concepts, and basic troubleshooting methodologies
- Ability to follow documented procedures, manage assigned work, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally
- Ability to work effectively in a primarily remote environment
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and access to a reliable personal vehicle
- Residence within approximately one hour of a major medical center (for on-site support and regional travel)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Networking, IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Completion of networking coursework, lab experience, internships, or technical projects in networking
- Familiarity with Cisco networking technologies and Infoblox or similar IPAM solutions
- Exposure to DNS, DHCP, and core network services administration
- Experience with ServiceNow or other IT service management platforms
- Industry certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ (or progress toward them)
Work Environment & Schedule
- Approximately 90% remote with occasional on-site responsibilities (up to ~10% regional travel)
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40 (day shifts)
- Must be able to travel to regional facilities and support operational, training, and business needs as required
- Weekly rotating on-call participation after required training and onboarding
- Role supports critical clinical, long-term care, and critical care infrastructure
Compensation
- Salary range: $27.00 - $44.00 per hour (as provided by the client)
