Role overview
This is an entry-level, full-time Associate Member Services Representative position supporting branch operations for a Confidential Client in the Accounting & Finance industry. The role focuses on delivering excellent member service across in-person, phone, and digital channels while learning standard branch procedures, cash-management, account origination and maintenance. This position is hourly — $25 per hour.
What You’ll Do
- Greet and assist members courteously and professionally in-person, by phone, and via digital channels
- Process member transactions accurately and balance a cash drawer to Performance Measurement Criteria standards
- Perform cash-management tasks (vault, ATM, teller cash dispenser, coin sorter) and help verify cash shipments
- Open and maintain basic member accounts following MIP and internal procedures (share, money market, checking, Share Term Certificates) under supervision
- Evaluate mobile and ATM check deposits; process foreign and domestic wire transfers
- Troubleshoot member account, card, and online access issues, including dispute processing
- Adhere to Check Acceptance Guidelines, Hold procedures, and other security / control policies
- Operate drive-through window when needed and support other departments to facilitate member requests
- Organize, file, and scan daily documents; maintain records for reports (return items, forgeries, negative checking)
- Learn and complete required training modules (e.g., Checking Accounts, Member Eligibility, MARGO/Teller, Wires, Cash Handling) and assist with CXone as requested
- Provide referrals to Financial Advisory and Real Estate services when appropriate and begin building product knowledge
Minimum qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable interacting with diverse members
- Demonstrated customer-service aptitude with the ability to build member trust and rapport
- Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Ability to complete the Credit Union’s Core Module Program within 12 months of hire (condition of employment)
- Regular attendance and punctuality
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, CCUE Certification, or Associate degree (AA/AS) via NC-CTP preferred
- Prior teller, cash-handling, or member services experience in banking/credit union setting
- Familiarity with MARGO Teller, CXone, or related banking platforms
Work environment & physical demands
- Office/branch setting with proximity to other employees and members; typical background noise from printers, phones, and coin machines
- Significant portion of the role involves sitting and using hands/fingers for keyboard and phone tasks
- Must be able to lift 10–15 pounds and comprehend phone communications
Compensation & benefits
- Hourly rate: $25.00 per hour (full-time) — displayed to comply with local pay-transparency expectations for California listings
