What You’ll Do

This entry-level role supports branch operations and provides hands-on member service in a retail banking environment. You will learn core branch functions and begin training on lending and collections while delivering courteous, accurate service to members of Confidential Client.

  • Provide friendly, timely service to members in-person, by phone, and via digital channels
  • Run and balance a cash drawer; follow security and control procedures
  • Assist with account origination and maintenance for products such as share, checking, money market, and Share Term Certificates under supervision
  • Process domestic and foreign wire transfers; assist with foreign currency ordering and returns
  • Troubleshoot member account issues, card problems, online access, and disputes
  • Follow SECU (Confidential Client) check acceptance and hold procedures and handle confidential member information appropriately
  • Organize, file, and scan documentation; interact with other departments to facilitate member requests
  • Provide Notary Public services as requested and as authorized by management
  • Begin training on consumer lending, credit card products, and subsequent advances on open home equity lines of credit
  • Attend collection training before performing collection duties and contact members as directed to document collection efforts
  • Participate in continuing training (e.g., Credit Union Core Modules, CXone) to build product and process knowledge

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, CCUE Certification, or Associate degree (AA/AS)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-service orientation with the ability to develop member trust and confidence
  • Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to complete required core training within 12 months of hire
  • Willingness to learn branch systems and product offerings and to follow policies and regulatory requirements
  • Must demonstrate consistent punctuality and reliable attendance

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Office/branch setting with regular interaction with members and colleagues; routine background noise (phones, printers, coin machines)
  • Substantial amount of sitting and use of hands/fingers for computer and telephone tasks
  • Ability to comprehend and respond to phone calls and member requests
  • Ability to lift 10–15 pounds when necessary
