Role overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Associate Mechanical Engineer (Sustainment) to support aircraft maintenance, modification, and repair activities at their Greenville, TX site. This role assists experienced engineers by evaluating discrepant conditions, interpreting technical data, and developing basic engineering dispositions to keep production and sustainment work moving.
What you’ll do
- Assist in evaluating nonconforming conditions and help determine appropriate engineering dispositions.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, models, tolerances, and technical documents to support MRB decision-making.
- Support troubleshooting of production and maintenance issues and help transition designs into manufacturing and installation.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and Program teams to maintain production flow and ensure product integrity.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly in written reports and verbal briefings.
- Support off-shift or overtime work as required to meet program schedules and delivery commitments.
- Work safely in hangars, flight lines, and manufacturing facilities; board and exit aircraft and maneuver within restricted compartments while using required PPE.
Who we’re looking for / Minimum qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM discipline — OR a Bachelor’s degree completed within the last 12 months.
- Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical or aerospace engineering principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to learn, follow direction, and take on mentorship to develop technical judgment and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to work in physically constrained aircraft areas and meet facility safety requirements.
- Must be able to support occasional off-shift or overtime work when necessary.
Working environment & additional details
- On-site role based in Greenville, TX; candidates must be able to work in hangars, on flight lines, and in manufacturing settings.
- The position may require pre-employment background checks and substance testing where permitted by law.

Compensation
- Estimated pay (per source): $66,922 per year (estimated). Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and job location. No salary is fabricated beyond the source data.
