Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Associate Mechanical Engineer to join a Defense Systems engineering team in Roy, UT. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers with a mechanical, aerospace, systems, manufacturing, or electrical engineering background who are eligible for U.S. government security clearance.

What You’ll Do

This is an early-career engineering role supporting design, analysis, and production activities for mission-critical defense systems.

• Support mechanical design and integration tasks across component and system levels
• Perform basic mechanical analyses, testing support, and documentation
• Work with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, systems, test, suppliers) to resolve technical issues
• Contribute to engineering reviews, technical reports, and requirements traceability
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts and follow configuration management practices
• Assist senior engineers on prototype build, test, and validation activities

Minimum (Basic) Qualifications

Candidates must meet ALL of the following:

• Completing or recently completed an accredited degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (required)

• Strong academic performance and demonstrated engineering fundamentals

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Willingness to work on-site in Roy, UT

Preferred Qualifications

• Cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
• Current active Secret (or higher) security clearance
• Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX), FEA tools, or lab/test environments
• Internship or co-op experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments

Location & Compensation

• Work location: Roy, UT (on-site)
• Salary range (provided by source): $59,900 – $89,900 per year
• Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates
