Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Mechanical Engineer for an entry-level Pathways program in Baltimore, MD. This role supports mission-focused mechanical engineering work and offers hands-on experience, professional development, and opportunities to work with classified systems (DoD Secret clearance required to start). This posting is for candidates who are completing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design, analysis, and testing efforts across product development life cycles
• Contribute to prototype build, laboratory testing, and failure investigation activities
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and test reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, manufacturing, test engineering) to deliver technical solutions
• Follow configuration management, safety, and security procedures required for work on government programs
• Travel as required (up to ~10%)

Basic Qualifications (Required)

A candidate must meet ALL items below:

• Completing or completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Major in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline)
• U.S. citizenship (required to obtain U.S. Government security clearance)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (final DoD Secret Clearance required to start)
• Ability to obtain Special Access Program eligibility within a reasonable period, as determined by the client

Preferred Qualifications

• Cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
• Hands-on experience with CAD, materials testing, or prototyping (class projects, internships, senior design)
• Coursework or exposure to mechanical systems design, thermodynamics, solids and structures, or manufacturing processes

Compensation & Employment Type

• Salary range (Bachelors): $66,200 - $99,200 per year
• Employment Type: FULL_TIME and/or CONTRACTOR (position may be posted as either)
• Additional pay elements may include overtime eligibility, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses depending on role and classification
• Benefits and other programs vary by employment arrangement and are determined by the client

• Job location: Baltimore, MD (on-site work at client facilities)
• Relocation assistance: may be available
• Required travel: approximately 10% (as business needs dictate)
• Security requirement: Final DoD Secret clearance required at start; U.S. citizenship is mandatory
