Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Associate Materials Process Engineer (Chemistry Lab) to join a materials and process group in East Camden, AR. This hands‑on, chemistry-focused lab role supports testing, data collection, and instrument maintenance for materials and energetic formulations. This position works 12-hour shifts, three days per week (weekend nights / graveyard shift).


What You’ll Do

  • Handle, process, and mix chemicals safely in a laboratory environment
  • Sample and test raw materials, propellants, and energetic materials per defined methods
  • Prepare, collect and report raw test data in prescribed formats
  • Operate, troubleshoot, calibrate and maintain laboratory test instrumentation and related computer systems
  • Perform bench chemistry analyses and follow written test instructions/specifications
  • Clean, assemble, and dismantle test hardware, equipment, and laboratory apparatus
  • Perform laboratory support tasks: instrument calibration, inventory, inspections, and material handling
  • Generate test reports and support documentation updates (test methods, calibration procedures)

Who you are / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related field with 0–2 years of related experience; OR
  • Minimum 4 years of related lab/process experience in lieu of degree
  • Comfortable performing complex mathematical calculations and recording accurate test results
  • Strong attention to detail, safety-focused, and able to follow written procedures and engineering drawings
  • Ability to work 12‑hour night shifts on a 3‑days‑on schedule (graveyard/weekend nights)
  • Preferred: experience/testing knowledge of propellants, explosives, or energetic materials (a plus)

  • This is an entry-level, full-time role based in East Camden, AR (onsite).
  • Role requires working in a chemistry lab and may involve handling energetic or explosive materials — strict adherence to safety and handling procedures is required.
