Role Overview
The Associate Investment Operations Analyst is an entry-level, middle-office role supporting day-to-day operational processes across the trade lifecycle and client reporting for a confidential client in Accounting & Finance. You will work with senior analysts to process trades, reconcile positions and cash, manage corporate actions and collateral, and support reporting and process improvement initiatives. This position is on-site/hybrid in Minneapolis, MN (minimum three days per week).
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for equities, fixed income, derivatives, private equity, and multi-managed fund transactions: trade verification, affirmation, and settlement.
- Reconcile trades, positions, and cash balances across multiple asset classes; identify and escalate discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate investment data in internal systems and portfolio accounting platforms.
- Process corporate actions, income collections, variation margins, collateral, and settlements and ensure proper reconciliation.
- Support collateral and cash management, class action claim handling, and securities lending/derivatives operations.
- Communicate time-sensitive operational information to portfolio managers, traders, brokers, custodians, fund accountants, and internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with external partners (brokers, custodians, vendors) to resolve issues and maintain relationships.
- Assist onboarding new accounts and custodial setups; contribute to documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support system enhancements, automation efforts, and cross-functional projects to streamline operations.
- Generate and distribute investment-related reports and operational dashboards; assist with audit and compliance documentation.
What We’re Looking For — Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- General knowledge or coursework related to investment operations or finance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (data management, formulas).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn investment operations concepts.
Preferred
- Internship or prior exposure to finance, accounting, or investment operations.
- Basic familiarity with trade lifecycle concepts and investment instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives).
- Experience with tools or systems used to assemble and analyze financial data.
- Interest in process improvement, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Location, Schedule & Employment Type
- Location: Minneapolis, MN (on-site minimum 3 days per week).

Compensation & Benefits (Pay Transparency)
- Salary range: $63,741 — $86,238 per year (base pay will be determined by location, experience, skills, and other business factors).
