What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Associate Information Systems Administrator to join its internal Information Systems Operations team. In this hands-on role you’ll support managed endpoints, identity and access services, collaboration platforms, and other corporate systems while learning the organization’s technical standards, security requirements, and operating procedures.
You will balance user support and routine platform administration, act as a technical escalation resource for endpoint/identity/application issues, document activity, and coordinate with senior administrators when problems exceed your scope. As you grow, you may also contribute to approved projects or customer-support assignments.
- Provide first- and second-line technical support for Windows and macOS endpoints, corporate applications, collaboration tools, and identity/access issues.
- Troubleshoot connectivity (wired/wireless/VPN), remote-access and common network issues; escalate when appropriate.
- Build, image, deploy, patch, and recover endpoints using approved configuration standards and endpoint-management tools.
- Perform routine user and group administration across Microsoft 365 (GCC High), Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, and approved enterprise apps under least-privilege procedures.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding, role changes, equipment deployment, license tracking, and maintaining accurate asset records.
- Support backup and recovery checks, monitor system health, and follow established escalation processes for exceptions.
- Create and maintain tickets, knowledge articles, checklists, and standard operating procedures to ensure reproducible and auditable work.
- Help test, document, and administer internal tooling (including Microsoft 365–based ITIL/service-management solutions and secure remote-support tools); assist with low-code, scripting, or automation tasks under guidance.
- Provide user guidance and basic training; communicate status clearly and escalate issues or blockers promptly.
- Support small technical initiatives, data cleanups, and process improvements; collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and Compliance teams as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Foundational hands-on experience from work, technical education, internships, military service, certifications, or personal projects.
- Foundational troubleshooting skills across Windows and macOS endpoints, identity/access, corporate apps, peripherals, and network connectivity.
- Ability to follow technical procedures, security controls, change-control processes, and escalation paths.
- Strong customer-service orientation with clear verbal and written communication.
- Good organization, attention to detail, and commitment to accurate documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines with guidance, surface blockers early, and accept feedback.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Ability to work regularly from the Fairborn, OH office and to travel occasionally to other client or company locations as required.
- Ability to lift, install, and move computer equipment where needed (reasonable accommodation available).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, computer science, or related field (or equivalent technical education/certifications/experience).
- Up to two years of IT support, endpoint administration, or systems-administration experience.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Jamf, Okta, Zscaler, endpoint security solutions, backup platforms, or ITSM tools.
- Familiarity with identity/access concepts: multifactor authentication, least privilege, and device compliance.
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or Apple Device Support.
- Experience supporting Windows and macOS users in hybrid workplaces.
- Interest or experience with internal app support, workflow automation, low-code, scripting, or API integrations (SharePoint, Power Platform, Microsoft Graph, PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.).
Compensation & Employment Type
- Salary range: $100,000 - $110,000 per year.
- Employment type: Contract; Full time.
- This role requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Work location: Regular on-site presence expected at the Fairborn, OH office; occasional travel to other locations may be required.
