What You’ll Do

  • Support day-to-day personnel security (PERSEC) operations to assess and maintain eligibility for access to classified information for program personnel.
  • Maintain and audit security records using systems such as JADE, SIMS, and other security databases to ensure data integrity and inspection readiness.
  • Manage electronic personnel files ("E Files") for personnel assigned to the site and other locations serviced by the security team.
  • Coordinate with other PERSEC teams to create and monitor Personnel Action Requests (PARs) and related submissions through AP-CAR or other internal systems.
  • Assist with initial, annual, and event-driven Special Access Program (SAP) training and briefings.
  • Process Visitor Access Requests (VAR) and support visitor access administration.
  • Report adverse information to appropriate collateral and SAP points of contact using DISS, JADE, and established reporting forms.
  • Draft and maintain written work center procedures to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Support cross-functional security tasks as needed to broaden skills and prepare for higher-level security roles.
  • Perform other administrative and security duties as required to meet organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR 4 years of security-related experience (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance with the ability to meet enhanced security requirements and obtain/maintain SAP eligibility and access.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) and willing to learn additional security IT systems.
  • Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills; effective at organizing and presenting information.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to take guidance and follow projects through to completion under supervision.
  • Flexible with changing priorities and able to work a mixed schedule or extended hours as required.
  • Able to lift/carry up to 20 lbs, stand for long periods, and climb ladders when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing security work in a DoD Special Access Program (SAP) environment.
  • Recent in-scope investigation (T5, T5R, SSBI, SBPR, PPR) within the last 6 years or current enrollment in Continuous Evaluation (CE).
  • Direct PERSEC experience and familiarity with SAP processes.
  • Knowledge of DODM 5205.07, DISS, JADE, AP-CARS, SIMS, and related DoD security tools and policies.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated base salary range: $63,000 - $94,600 per year (primary level). This range is provided as a guideline; final offers consider experience, skills, and market factors.
  • Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and access to company benefits such as health insurance, life and disability coverage, retirement/savings plans, paid time off, and paid holidays.
  • Additional benefits and incentive eligibility may vary by role and level.

Location & Schedule

  • Location: Edwards AFB, CA (on-site role supporting classified programs).
  • Travel: Approximately 10% as required by the program.
  • Schedule: May require a mixed schedule and extended hours to support mission needs.
