About the Role

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking an Associate Industrial Engineer for a production-support role based in Goleta, CA. This is an entry-level/early-career opportunity supporting manufacturing and production optimization activities in an engineering environment. The role contributes to production layouts, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up, scaling and optimizing production areas: sequence of operations, workflow, and work-cell layout.
• Generate Value Stream Maps (VSM) and analyze production data to create meaningful metrics for safety, quality, delivery, workforce and cost.
• Support planning to ensure availability of labor, facilities, equipment and tooling.
• Help standardize processes and participate on cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement (production output, inventory control, quality assurance, cost reduction).
• Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to communicate status, gather input, and align priorities.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

A candidate must meet ALL of the following requirements:

• Degree completed (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution.
• Major in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Ability to obtain Special Access Program (as required by the business) within a reasonable period.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cumulative GPA ≥ 3.0/4.0.
• Knowledge or coursework/project experience with Lean tools (VSM, kanban, 5S) in a manufacturing setting (internship/co-op/project or work).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Project and Visio is a plus.
• Data-analysis mindset and comfort using production data to drive decisions.
• Proactive, eager to learn, strong problem-solving, effective communicator, and able to work on teams.

Employment Details & Compensation

• Location: Goleta, CA (on-site).
• Employment type: Contractor, Full time.
• Salary range: $69,400 — $104,000 per year. Final offer depends on role responsibilities, experience, education, and market factors.

• Note: Depending on the assignment, employees may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, and benefits per the client’s compensation programs.
• Security: U.S. citizenship is required for positions requiring government clearance.
