Associate ICAM Analyst
The Associate ICAM Analyst supports federal identity and access management initiatives by attending and documenting technical and customer meetings, tracking action items, and maintaining project documentation. This role offers early-career professionals hands-on exposure to federal ICAM programs and technical discussions, with opportunities to advance into technical or consulting tracks. Our confidential client is a small-business federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) systems integrator and independent software vendor delivering secure, modern identity solutions to federal civilian and Department of Defense customers (including FedRAMP High and IL5 platforms). They build automation and identity products that help agencies adopt Zero Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer working sessions, technical meetings, status reviews, and internal standups; produce timely, well-organized meeting notes.
- Capture decisions, action items, owners, due dates, risks, and open questions; distribute concise summaries to stakeholders (typically within one business day).
- Maintain and follow up on action item and decision logs to ensure steady progress.
- Understand and accurately record ICAM terminology and concepts (SSO, MFA, PIV/CAC, federation, provisioning, RBAC/ABAC, Zero Trust) so notes are technically correct.
- Support program and project managers with agendas, scheduling, status reports, and briefing materials.
- Help maintain project documentation (runbooks, customer-facing summaries, knowledge base content).
- Assist delivery and customer success teams with research, requirements gathering, and documentation reviews.
- Handle sensitive and controlled information in line with customer and company security requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field — or equivalent work experience.
- ~2 years of experience in ICAM, IAM, cybersecurity, or IT support (internships, lab work, and academic projects count).
- Foundational understanding of identity and access management concepts (authentication, authorization, directory services, single sign-on).
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to summarize technical discussions clearly and concisely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, collaboration tools (Slack, Teams), and project tracking tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Ability to work onsite at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA as required by the customer.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with federal ICAM frameworks and guidance (FICAM, NIST SP 800-63, NIST SP 800-53, OMB M-22-09, DoD Zero Trust).
- Exposure to identity platforms such as Ping Identity, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, SailPoint, or Saviynt.
- Experience in a federal contracting or consulting environment.
- Entry-level certifications (CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, ISC2 CC, vendor identity certs). Security+ is commonly required for DoD work under DoD 8140.
What Success Looks Like
- Stakeholders rely on your notes as the authoritative record of decisions and ownership.
- Action items are tracked and closed on schedule.
- Within 6–12 months, you contribute to technical discussions and take on documentation or analysis tasks beyond note-taking.
Location & Workstyle
This is a hybrid role based out of the Sterling, VA office with occasional onsite requirements at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA as required by the customer. Candidates must be able to commute to these locations as needed.
Salary & Benefits
- Base salary range: $75,000–$85,000 per year (depending on experience).
