Overview
Confidential Client is seeking Hardware Electronics Engineers (Associate and Hardware levels) to join a Mission Systems team in Rolling Meadows, IL. This role supports the research, design, development, and test of electronic systems and components used in mission-critical applications. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance are required.
What You’ll Do
Confidential Client seeks candidates to contribute to multidisciplinary engineering efforts, including:
- Research, design, develop, and test electronic equipment and systems (circuitry, sensors/antennas, transmitters/receivers, analog and digital systems)
- Support PCB/CCA design reviews and prototype build/test cycles
- Perform EMI/EMC and system-level verification and validation
- Collaborate on RF, power amplifier and signal-chain design tasks
- Document designs, test plans, and results; present at design reviews
- Work with small teams to move concepts from design through production
Basic Qualifications
Associate Hardware Electronics Engineer (Entry / New grad level)
- Bachelor’s degree (completed or completing) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related STEM degree
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (interim Secret required to start)
- Ability to obtain Special Access Program access within a reasonable period
Hardware Electronics Engineer (Master’s + experience)
- Master’s degree (completed or completing) in the fields above plus ~1 year relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (interim Secret required to start)
- Ability to obtain Special Access Program access within a reasonable period
Preferred Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA ≥ 3.0/4.0 (helpful for entry-level/early-career candidates)
- Active U.S. Government Secret clearance is a strong plus
- Relevant coursework or experience in: Analog & Digital Electronics, Power Electronics, RF, PCB/CCA design, EMI/EMC testing, HDL/FPGA, Power Amplifiers (PA), transmitter design, MATLAB, DVT, DC/DC / AC/DC converters
- Experience leading small teams through product development cycles
- Demonstrated creative problem solving across design, development, and production phases
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Compensation & Benefits
Pay ranges (posted by the hiring organization) for roles covered by this posting:
- Associate Hardware Electronics Engineer: $72,700 - $109,100 per year
- Hardware Electronics Engineer: $87,600 - $131,400 per year
Compensation may be influenced by experience, education, position scope, and market conditions. Eligible employees may also receive overtime, shift differential, discretionary/annual bonuses, and may participate in benefits including health insurance, life/disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid holidays, and paid time off.
