Compensation

Estimated: $53,452 per year (estimated).

Responsibilities

With close supervision, you will:

• Maintain and support the confidential client’s GIS system by posting, updating, and maintaining utility asset data for electric distribution.
• Review design drawings, maps, plats, redlines, and related documentation and accurately model assets in GIS.
• Gather, analyze, and maintain geospatial data used as the utility system’s system of record.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve GIS data issues and discrepancies.
• Perform QA/QC activities to ensure GIS data accuracy and completeness.
• Correct data quality errors and verify compliance with GIS business rules and standards.
• Communicate with Work Order Owners, Designers, Engineers, and Field personnel to obtain missing information.

Required / Basic Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology, Geographic Information Science, Geology, or other related field
• OR High School/GED AND four (4) or more years related work experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Certified GIS professional (preferred)
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Experience in the utility or energy industry

Working Conditions

• Hybrid — work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. Hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated confidential client facility.

Specific Requirements

• Associate Degree in GIS (or equivalent), or 4+ years equivalent industry experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A GIS certificate may be considered alongside an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.

Travel Requirements

• Travel as needed for field verification, training, or meetings (typical for entry-level GIS roles in utilities).

• Location: Plainfield, IN (hybrid).
