Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Accountant, Fund Accounting (entry-level / contract) in South Boston, MA. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career accounting/finance professionals who want hands-on fund accounting experience, including NAV calculation, reconciliations, and investment transaction processing.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly fund accounting records.
- Assist in the calculation and verification of Net Asset Values (NAVs) for investment funds.
- Reconcile cash, securities, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Monitor and resolve accounting breaks and reconciliation discrepancies.
- Process and review investment transactions, including purchases, sales, income, and corporate actions.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and operating procedures.
- Participate in process-improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Prior internship or accounting/finance experience is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, or other investment vehicles.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (base): $43,200 - $64,800 USD per year (good-faith estimate).
- Confidential Client offers a comprehensive benefits package which may include retirement plans, health and welfare benefits, paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life and accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. A discretionary bonus program may also be available.
