What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Finance Specialist to develop finance and SAP-related skills while supporting client-focused finance transformation work. This early-career role provides structured learning, hands-on client experience, mentorship, and opportunities for professional certification.

You may be placed on projects that include finance process modernization, SAP-enabled implementation, automation, analytics, and AI-supported solutions. Responsibilities may include:

  • Work with finance, accounting, business, and technology teams to understand financial processes, requirements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support SAP-enabled finance processes including financial accounting, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and controlling.
  • Analyze financial and business requirements and help translate them into SAP-enabled process and technology solutions.
  • Apply finance and accounting knowledge to understand how transactions and business processes flow through an organization and contribute to reporting, internal controls, and decision-making.
  • Participate in SAP configuration support, testing, data validation, documentation, issue resolution, and implementation activities under guidance.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and support business decision-making.
  • Support finance process improvement and transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, visibility, and controls.
  • Collaborate with consultants, finance professionals, technology specialists, and client stakeholders while developing consulting, communication, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Gain exposure to how AI, automation, analytics, and cloud platforms can transform the finance function.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Currently completing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (concentration in Finance or Accounting), or a closely related business field. MBA candidates with relevant finance or financial business-process experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong foundational understanding of finance and accounting concepts (financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, financial analysis, controlling).
  • Understanding of how financial transactions and processes contribute to financial statements, reporting, internal controls, and business decision-making.
  • Ability to analyze financial and business information, identify trends and issues, evaluate processes, and produce structured recommendations.
  • Demonstrated application of finance, accounting, or analytical skills through coursework, projects, internships, case competitions, research, student orgs, training platforms, or other practical experience.
  • Interest in developing expertise in SAP, enterprise finance technologies, analytics, automation, and digital transformation.
  • Clear communication skills for both business and technical audiences, plus curiosity and a desire to learn.
  • Prior SAP experience is not required.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Practical finance or accounting experience from internships, academic projects, case competitions, research, or student organizations.
  • Exposure to financial analysis, reporting, budgeting & forecasting, cost accounting, management accounting, financial modeling, business analytics, or process improvement.
  • Familiarity with financial systems, ERP concepts, spreadsheets, business intelligence, or data visualization tools.
  • Exposure to SAP or other ERP platforms is welcomed but not required.
  • Interest in finance transformation, AI, automation, and enterprise technology consulting.

Compensation (estimated)

  • Estimated salary: $54,594 per year (estimated).
  • Compensation and benefits will be determined by the Confidential Client and may vary by location and candidate experience.
