Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Field Service Representative to support customers at Fort Bragg, NC. This entry-level field engineering role provides hands-on pre- and post-sales technical support, training, and on-site integration for radar, sensor, and related electro-mechanical systems. The position requires eligibility for access to classified information up to the Secret level and will include domestic and international travel (up to 75%).


What You’ll Do

  • Assist senior engineers during field training, system installations, and on-site service at customer locations (CONUS and OCONUS) under close supervision
  • Deliver product demonstrations and operator/maintenance training to end users and unit personnel
  • Provide routine technical support for hardware, software, and network integration tasks
  • Use and maintain test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators) to diagnose basic electrical/electronic issues
  • Read and follow electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly/test instructions, and specifications
  • Engage with customers to document requirements and coordinate with internal teams to meet expectations
  • Prepare and document after-action reports and service records to support continuous improvement
  • Support configuration management, quality, and subcontractor teams on routine tasks and handling procedures
  • Assist with on-site consultation and integration for new system initiatives within assigned area of responsibility
  • Follow area-wide procedures and contribute to procedural/policy updates as requested

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate’s degree, vocational certification, or relevant military experience plus 2+ years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field (0+ years acceptable). Equivalent combinations of education/training/experience considered
  • Basic understanding of hardware, software, and TCP/IP network integration concepts
  • Familiarity with common test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators)
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
  • Self-motivated, well organized, and able to manage routine assignments under close supervision
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and interact professionally with customers and stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and assist as an instructor for operator and maintenance training courses
  • Physical ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds, climb towers (tower-climbing certification may be required), tolerate long flights, and handle periodic long workdays; reasonable accommodations considered
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% (domestic and international), including potential extended assignments in austere environments (desert, arctic, or other extreme conditions)
  • Must be able to successfully complete a government security investigation and obtain/maintain eligibility for access to classified information up to the Secret level
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
