Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Field Application Engineer to join a sales-focused engineering team in Edina, MN. This entry-level role blends technical engineering support with customer-facing activities to help drive design wins, pre- and post-sales solutions, and supplier/customer collaboration. A willingness to relocate for career advancement is required.


What you’ll do

  • Assist in the development and execution of technical account penetration strategies within assigned markets.
  • Support supplier and customer design conversations, contributing component-level and system-level technical insight.
  • Work with senior FAEs and internal engineering teams to translate customer requirements into viable solutions.
  • Track high-value design opportunities from concept through new product introduction.
  • Create technical presentations, sales tools, and product-level training to support the sales organization.
  • Promote supported product lines and drive adoption that contributes to design wins and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate across sales, engineering, and supplier partners to manage opportunity handoffs and communications.
  • Attend internal and external training to maintain and grow technical expertise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business objectives.

Who you are (qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering discipline — or equivalent experience.
  • Typically less than 2 years of professional experience; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of electronics, components, and product lifecycles.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable working within an assigned territory or account base and collaborating with sales professionals.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced sales-engineering environment.
  • Willingness to relocate for career growth and development.

Location & work authorization

  • Position based in Edina, MN (on-site / hybrid as determined by client).
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; Confidential Client is unable to sponsor or transfer employment visas.

Compensation & benefits

  • Estimated base (as shown in source posting): $95,188 per year (estimated).
