Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Associate, Engineering Project Manager (also described as Associate Project Delivery Engineer) to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role focuses on design support, project delivery, and operational engineering tasks to help deliver safe, reliable utility services in Saint Louis, MO.
Estimated salary: $83,643 per year (estimated).
What You’ll Do
- Assist with planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater projects from inception through closeout.
- Support development of project plans, technical specifications, and construction documents for pipelines, pumping stations, treatment facilities, and storage.
- Perform system capacity evaluations and technical analyses related to sources, treatment, pumping, distribution/collection, and storage.
- Assist on multiple small-to-medium projects, coordinating with consultants, technicians, and CAD staff.
- Convert technical concepts into practical engineering approaches and support project implementation.
- Participate in site visits, project kickoff/review meetings, and coordinate with operations staff as needed.
- Complete special assignments and other duties as assigned by team leads or managers.
What We’re Looking For (Skills & Knowledge)
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering design theory and water/wastewater system operations.
- Familiarity with project management, construction and contract processes, and regulatory requirements affecting water utilities.
- Working knowledge of water quality and treatment trends and industry standards.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication (reports, presentations, stakeholder coordination).
- Interpersonal skills: teamwork, diplomacy, and the ability to work with cross-functional groups.
Experience & Education
- 0–2 years of experience in engineering design, planning, construction, project delivery, or project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (civil, environmental, or related).
- Hydraulic modeling experience for water distribution or wastewater collection systems is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
Travel & Work Environment
- Up to 20% travel, as required.
- Primarily office-based with periodic field work at water/wastewater facilities for site investigations and project meetings.
