Associate Engineer

Responsibilities
This position supports delivery of electrical power system solutions through engineering design and analysis. The Confidential Client seeks proactive engineers who will learn from senior staff and contribute to project execution.
- Assist in the design, development, analysis, and implementation of electrical power systems aligned with client requirements
- Support power distribution, protection & control, or physical substation design for industrial, renewable, data center, and utility projects
- Perform power system studies, calculations, and modeling using industry-standard tools
- Develop or revise electrical design documents (one-line, three-line, wiring, relay schematics, control panel layouts) for protection & control roles
- Or, for physical substation roles, prepare power one-lines, phasing diagrams, yard layouts, conduit and grounding plans, lighting plans, and construction sequencing
- Verify configuration and communication of field devices and network‑integrated systems
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and startup activities as required
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in design reviews and project meetings
- Independently execute small-to-medium tasks from technical design through completion while following quality standards
Projects & Travel
- Work under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers on medium and large projects
- Support project documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for site meetings, commissioning, or testing
- May assist with on-site installation, testing, and startup as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred; Mechanical acceptable) preferred
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology with relevant experience may be considered
- 0–4 years of experience in electrical power systems engineering (entry-level candidates welcome)
- Internship or co-op experience in engineering is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain an international passport quickly, if needed

Work Conditions & Physical Demands
Office-based engineering work with occasional fieldwork. Reasonable accommodations available.
- Office work: extended computer use, meetings, and design reviews
- Field work (when required): standing and moving onsite for up to full shifts, climbing stairs/ladders, occasional lifting up to 40 lbs, using PPE (safety glasses, hard hats, steel‑toed boots, hearing protection), and exposure to low‑to‑high voltage equipment
- Must follow client and site-specific safety protocols
