What You’ll Do
This temporary Associate Engineer role supports engineering projects and operations in a regulated manufacturing/biologics environment. You will apply basic engineering and scientific knowledge, mathematics, and analysis to complete assigned technical tasks under supervision.
- Support compliance with Quality, Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) policies, Engineering Standards, and other applicable governance areas; identify compliance risks and assist with procedure and standard updates.
- Help define project scope with stakeholders, break goals into tasks, plan and execute assigned work, and document progress against cost, quality and schedule targets.
- Participate in small projects and feasibility studies; support project costing and help the team meet financial targets.
- Execute qualification activities (for example EFU qualification, cleaning validation), testing, prototype work, and experimental runs — coordinating with QA, Validation, and technical support.
- Collect and analyze data, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions or process improvements.
- Assist in training operators or technicians on processes, equipment and safe work practices.
- Contribute to process, product and equipment design improvements using standard engineering methods. Recommend innovations and cost reductions when appropriate.
- Build and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; communicate clearly via written reports and presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Science (Biology & Biotechnology preferred), or equivalent technical experience with demonstrated competence.
- Entry-level experience (typically less than 2 years); biologics experience is a plus.
- Full availability for rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, follow established processes, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to identify and weigh risks relative to potential gains.
- Experience or familiarity with GMP/quality systems, qualification and validation activities is desirable.
