Work Environment

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Engineer (Transmission Lines) for a hybrid work environment in Village, TX. This is a full-time role working on high-voltage (HV) overhead transmission design projects with hands-on exposure to PLS‑CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, and construction support.


What You’ll Do

As an entry-level Associate Engineer supporting transmission line projects, you will:

  • Conduct engineering-related studies and learn applicable design criteria
  • Build and validate PLS software models (PLS‑CADD, PLS‑POLE, etc.)
  • Develop and analyze foundation designs (FAD, FD6, APile, LPile)
  • Spot structures and evaluate clearances and structural utilization in PLS‑CADD
  • Run PLS‑CADD reports (Structure Checks, Stringing Charts, etc.)
  • Prepare plan/profile drawings, work order packages, release letters and construction support documentation
  • Provide material specification input and support procurement coordination
  • Evaluate design alternatives and document recommendations
  • Estimate man-hours and project task completion dates
  • Manage multiple tasks across projects and coordinate with survey, permitting, vendors/subcontractors

What You’ll Bring

Candidates should have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (required)
  • EI/EIT certification (preferred)
  • 1+ years related transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry (preferred)
  • Experience using PLS‑CADD for transmission-line design (preferred)
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI)
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, calculation and sketching skills
  • Ability to research engineering/design issues, evaluate alternatives, and make sound recommendations
  • Self-starter attitude; ability to work in varied, deadline-driven environments
  • Effective verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record per company MVR policy
  • Commitment to working safely and following safety procedures

  • Estimated salary: $103,307 per year (estimated)
