Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Associate Engineer to join an Engineering Development Program (EDP). This program provides 2–3 year rotational assignments across multiple engineering and capital-project functions, paired with mentorship and training to accelerate technical and professional growth.


Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Provide project support by developing engineering solutions and preparing documentation for capital projects.
  • Perform engineering drawing walk‑downs and coordinate with stakeholders on drawing revisions and approvals.
  • Shadow and support project management through scoping, estimating, procurement, construction management, commissioning and closeout.
  • Support operations and disciplines engineers to improve asset reliability.
  • Assist with asset integrity program activities including data analysis, schedule tracking and KPI reporting.
  • Analyze program performance data and produce actionable insights to prioritize maintenance work.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned within program rotations.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 0–2 years relevant experience (internships/co‑ops count toward experience).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with pipeline and terminal operations (preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Travel: approximately 25%–50% (varies by assignment).
  • Employment type: Full‑time, Contract.

Preferred / Desired Skills

  • Strong performance in prior internship or cooperative work.
  • Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Exposure to or proficiency with AutoCAD, Power BI, SQL, GIS.
  • Background in technical writing.
  • EIT registration is desirable.

Attributes & Work Environment

  • Self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment and handling multiple assignments.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including regular and punctual attendance.

Compensation & Logistics

  • Estimated base (provided in source): $77,954 per year (estimated).
  • Location: Houston, TX.
  • Travel: 25%–50% depending on rotation and assignment.
  • This role supports development across engineering, project execution and operations within the Confidential Client’s Energy, Oil & Gas business.
