What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Associate Employee Experience Specialist to join their IT delivery team in Baton Rouge, LA. In this role you will work on human-centered design and employee experience projects that support enterprise products and internal platforms. You will contribute to design artifacts, research activities, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration — gaining mentorship, hands-on experience, and exposure to AI-enabled design tools.
- Support visual design and systems thinking: create UI components, visual assets, and contribute to design systems using accessibility and brand guidelines.
- Assist with user research and synthesis: take part in interviews, usability testing, journey mapping, and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Build prototypes and iterate: produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using industry-standard tools.
- Collaborate across teams: participate in Agile delivery with designers, developers, strategists, and client stakeholders; join design reviews and workshops.
- Explore AI-enabled design: learn how AI and automation tools inform content generation, personalization, and data-driven design at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce polished visual assets and UI components that follow accessibility best practices and design system standards.
- Help plan and execute user research activities; document findings and contribute to recommendations.
- Create wireframes and interactive prototypes to validate design ideas and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
- Present design concepts and rationale clearly, accept feedback, and iterate to improve outcomes.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs are feasible, maintainable, and aligned to business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Currently completing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Demonstrated application of design principles (typography, color, layout, visual hierarchy) via coursework, personal projects, internships, or freelance work.
- Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Foundational understanding of UX design principles and human-centered design methodologies.
- Strong visual communication and storytelling skills; ability to present ideas clearly to peers and stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset, analytical thinking, and eagerness to learn and grow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to enterprise design systems, inclusive design, or accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Familiarity with front-end concepts (HTML/CSS basics) to better collaborate with development teams.
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence and emerging design technologies and how they affect experience design.
