Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Employee Communications Representative to help inform and inspire employees, support business priorities, and produce engaging internal content. This hybrid role is based in Falls Church, VA, with telework allowed. The standard schedule is a 9/80 (nine-hour days Monday–Thursday with every other Friday off).
What You’ll Do
- Inform and inspire employees across the enterprise through timely, strategic internal communications.
- Develop, implement and measure employee, executive, culture and change communications plans and tactics.
- Act as a storyteller: create articles, videos, interviews, Q&As, infographics, photo features and short-list content.
- Write, edit, distribute and measure business announcements, news items and digital content.
- Serve as a trusted communications advisor to leaders; prepare announcements, talking points, scripts and speaker prep.
- Partner with other communications teams to align and amplify messaging.
- Support maintenance of internal websites, SharePoint pages and digital signage.
- Assist with event content and logistics for town halls, webinars and industry events.
- Support social media and internal campaign work to promote strategic priorities.
- Provide surge support to sector communications teams when needed.
Who You Are
- Excellent writer and editor with a passion for storytelling across channels (text, video, photos, graphics).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and skilled at prioritizing multiple projects.
- Positive, approachable and confident providing communications counsel to business partners.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and adapting quickly to shifting deadlines.
- Able to translate complex or technical topics into clear, engaging stories.
- Familiar with Associated Press (AP) style and modern communications tools.
- Data-informed: you use analytics to measure impact and refine approaches.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably Communications, Journalism, English, Political Science or related field).
- Experience in employee or executive communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, strong judgment, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Associated Press (AP) style.
- Familiarity with social tools, email measurement platforms and content management systems (including SharePoint). Basic HTML and Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
- Experience producing omni-channel editorial content (print, digital, video).
Additional Details
- Employment type: Full time.
- Travel: Approximately 10% as needed.
- This role is primarily onsite in Falls Church, VA with telework permitted and may be designated TELECOMMUTE in job systems.
- Estimated salary (source page): $71,144 per year (estimated).
