Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Embedded Software Engineer to join an engineering team in Bellbrook, OH. This hands-on role contributes to design, development, integration, debugging, and test of embedded and real-time software used in mission-critical systems. You will work in a collaborative Agile environment alongside Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Hardware, and Integration & Test teams.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to embedded and real-time software design, implementation, integration, and verification
• Develop and debug software in C/C++ (and Rust where applicable) for constrained, real-time environments
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and integration teams to translate requirements into robust implementations
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous integration workflows
• Use DevSecOps tools to support automated build/test pipelines and code quality checks
• Support integration, lab bring-up, and field verification activities; travel as needed (~10%)

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM discipline with 1–2 years’ experience, OR Master’s degree with 0 years’ experience
• Experience developing and debugging embedded, real-time systems
• Proficiency in C/C++ (Rust experience is a plus)
• US Citizenship required
• Active US Government Secret clearance required to start
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Bellbrook, OH

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing software in Rust
• Familiarity with Xilinx-based platforms and toolchains
• Experience with Linux kernel driver development or modification
• Experience using Agile tools (e.g., Jira) and DevSecOps toolchains (Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, Nexus)
• Familiarity with automated test frameworks and hardware-in-the-loop integration
• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary ranges (level-dependent): $69,300 - $103,900 and $83,400 - $125,200 (base pay ranges listed in source)
• Compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and other program-dependent incentives

• Worksite: Bellbrook, OH (onsite)
