What You’ll Do

This entry-level Associate Electronics Engineer role supports manufacturing test engineering for RF systems at a confidential client in Rolling Meadows, IL. You will join a team delivering hardware integration, test, and validation for mission-critical RF products. This role emphasizes hands-on hardware troubleshooting, test development, and schematic work (Cadence) while you build toward program-specific security clearances.


Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing test engineering for RF and electronic assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, test equipment, and unit-under-test issues on the production floor.
  • Assist with schematic generation and updates using Cadence.
  • Develop, execute, and document test procedures and validation plans.
  • Use oscilloscopes, network/spectrum analyzers, signal generators and other lab instruments for debugging and verification.
  • Contribute to hardware integration, system-level validation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Track test results, maintain version control (GitHub), and support continuous improvement in test processes.
  • Communicate technical findings to engineers, technicians, and program managers.

Basic Qualifications (required)

A candidate must meet ALL of the items below:

  • Completing or has completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD from an accredited institution.
  • Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship required to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) access if needed.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and test issues.
  • Experience with schematic generation (Cadence) and hardware development/integration on schedule and on budget.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher.
  • Experience with Python and MATLAB for data analysis and test automation.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C#, Java, or LabWindows/CVI.
  • Prior hardware troubleshooting experience with test equipment or prime hardware.
  • Experience with RF electronic systems in manufacturing or design (hardware, firmware).
  • Practical use of lab test instruments: Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer.
  • Familiarity reading schematics and one-line electrical diagrams.
  • Experience using GitHub.
  • Active DoD security clearance is a plus.

Compensation & Location

  • Salary range: $72,700 to $109,100 (USD, annual).
  • Location: Rolling Meadows, IL (on-site).
  • Travel: Approximately 10% of the time.
  • Relocation assistance: No.
  • Clearance: Secret clearance required (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
