What You’ll Do
This role is an entry-level Associate Electronics / Antenna Test Engineer position supporting antenna and RF test development and execution at a confidential client facility in Baltimore, MD. You will join the Antenna Test Engineering (ATE) organization and work on test development, validation, and automation for airborne multifunction sensor systems. Typical activities include developing test scripts and procedures, operating RF test equipment, analyzing measurements, and supporting range and lab test events on 2nd shift.
- Develop, run, and automate antenna and RF test procedures in lab and compact/nearfield ranges
- Operate and collect data from RF instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, network analyzers)
- Write and maintain test software/tools (C#, MATLAB, Visual Basic, or similar) to automate measurements and data processing
- Troubleshoot test setups, cabling, and RF interconnects; document results and action items
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support system integration and test readiness
- Support occasional travel for range tests (~10% travel)
Basic Qualifications
Candidates must meet ALL of the following:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline (completed or near completion)
- Experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meter, etc.)
- Professional software development experience using languages such as C#, MATLAB, Visual Basic, or equivalent for test automation or data analysis
- Ability to work 2nd shift
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required) — current, active DoD Secret clearance preferred
- Ability to obtain Special Access Program access within a reasonable period if required by program needs
Preferred Qualifications
- GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (overall cumulative)
- Experience developing software for RF and antenna systems or for automated test environments
- Test development experience in a nearfield and/or compact antenna range
- Direct RF test and/or antenna range experience
- Strong familiarity with RF and antenna theory
Compensation & Location
- Salary range: $72,700 to $109,100 per year (range provided by the client)
- Location: Baltimore, MD (on-site) — 2nd shift schedule required
- Travel: approximately 10% of the time for range and field tests
