Role Overview

Confidential client in the Space & Defense engineering sector is hiring an Associate Electrical Engineer / Electronic Design Engineer (entry-level) to join their Phoenix, AZ engineering team. This onsite, full-time role is an individual contributor position focused on analog, digital, and power electronics design for space- and defense-grade systems. Ideal candidates are eager to learn, hands-on with lab troubleshooting, and comfortable working in a cross-disciplinary product development environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Design analog and high-speed digital circuits, including schematic capture and creating PCB layout specifications.
  • Collaborate across mechanical, software, and systems disciplines to define product requirements and deliver technical presentations.
  • Use modeling and simulation tools to validate designs, verify interfaces, and mitigate design risks.
  • Perform hands-on board bring-up and troubleshooting using lab instrumentation (DMM, oscilloscope, etc.).
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with clear, concise technical reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of electrical/electronic engineering fundamentals (processors, digital logic, analog circuits, basic power circuits).
  • Experience or coursework with board-level design considerations, schematic capture, and digital simulation.
  • Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation for troubleshooting and validation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
  • Familiarity with space-grade electronics design and qualification processes.
  • Experience with VHDL/Verilog for FPGA or flight applications.
  • Experience with signal-integrity analysis tools, PSPICE, Mathcad, or equivalent design tools.

Compensation, Location & Schedule

Confidential client has posted the following salary range for this Phoenix, AZ role: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 annually. This role is full-time and onsite in Phoenix, AZ.

Additional rewards may include performance-based incentives and region-specific benefits. This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information; candidates must meet applicable eligibility requirements.
