Role Overview

This entry-level Associate, Electrical Engineer role with our confidential client is focused on designing, developing, integrating, and testing electrical hardware for high-performance mission systems. You'll work across disciplines to translate requirements into executable designs while balancing performance, cost, schedule, and compliance requirements. This role follows a 9/80 schedule (9 out of every 14 days worked; every other Friday off) and may require up to 25% travel.


What You’ll Do

  • Execute electrical engineering work from requirements through verification and technical documentation
  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for program needs
  • Create and maintain schematics, layouts, wiring diagrams, and electrical technical documentation
  • Perform calculations, simulations, and analyses to verify performance and reliability
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, trade studies, and failure mode analyses
  • Support prototype fabrication, test execution, and interpretation of test results
  • Develop and verify harness and interconnect designs, routing strategies, and interface control documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware, software, and operational constraints into practical solutions
  • Present technical status, issues, and recommendations in design reviews
  • Support compliance with customer, regulatory, and security requirements, including work in classified or controlled environments
  • Travel up to 25% for integration, test, customer engagement, and program execution

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science or a directly related field, OR completed a Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical circuit design, schematics, and layouts
  • Experience (academic or internship) with calculations, simulations, or prototype testing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical information clearly
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a security clearance if the role requires access to classified information
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or hands-on experience with harness/interconnect design and routing strategies
  • Familiarity with verification & validation processes, test planning, and test execution
  • Experience with technical documentation standards and configuration control
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in defense, aerospace, or related industries

Compensation & Additional Details

  • Estimated salary (from source listing): $73,761 per year (estimated)
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Schedule: 9/80 (every other Friday off)
  • Work may include classified or controlled-environment tasks; eligibility for security clearance may be required
