Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to join an engineering team in Cincinnati, OH. This is an early-career / entry-level to early-career role (may be filled at two levels) focused on research, design, implementation, and verification of signal and image processing algorithms and systems used in mission-critical applications. U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.


What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement custom digital signal processing algorithms for sensors and communications systems
  • Develop and test algorithms using MATLAB, C (or Octave) and simulation tools
  • Analyze and optimize system performance, including detection, estimation, and baseband processing
  • Integrate signal/image processing solutions into system architectures and advanced compute platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical problems and support program objectives
  • Research new techniques (e.g., neural networks, modulation schemes, radar/EW algorithms) and recommend improvements

Minimum Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL requirements listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another STEM field (level 1). Master’s degree may qualify for level 2.
  • Coursework or equivalent experience in digital signal processing, digital communications, digital circuit design, programmable logic, and software development
  • Proficient with MATLAB and at least one programming language such as C or Octave
  • Demonstrated knowledge of signal processing techniques and systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 (unofficial transcripts required at time of application)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active government security clearance
  • Proficiency in C/C++, embedded software design on Linux
  • Experience with wireless digital communications (modern modulation, modem design)
  • Radar and electronic warfare (EW) signal processing experience
  • RF receiver development experience (link budgets, ADC/noise analysis, baseband conversion)
  • FPGA / VHDL digital design experience
  • Familiarity with software-defined radios (GNU Radio, X-Midas) or SDR toolchains
  • Coursework or experience in Embedded System Design, RF System Design, RADAR or EW

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range (level 1): $76,200 - $114,400 per year
  • Salary Range (level 2): $91,800 - $137,600 per year
  • Confidential Client considers experience, education, skills, and market conditions when making offers.
  • Eligible employees may receive bonuses, overtime/shift differential (where applicable), and standard benefits including health insurance, life/disability insurance, retirement/savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
  • Relocation assistance may be available.

  • Job location: Cincinnati, OH (on-site)
  • Travel: approximately 10% (as required by program)
  • Clearance: Top Secret clearance required or ability to obtain/maintain one; U.S. citizenship is required.
