Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Digital Engineer for an entry-level Pathways program based in Baltimore, MD. This role supports digital engineering activities across mission systems, contributes to model-based systems engineering workflows, and participates in cross-disciplinary engineering teams. This is an early-career opportunity with training and professional development as part of a structured program.

What You’ll Do

• Support digital engineering activities including model development, verification/validation, and data-driven workflows
• Assist in developing technical artifacts for systems design and integration (models, requirements traceability, design documentation)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, systems) to translate requirements into engineering models and testable outputs
• Participate in technical reviews, integrate feedback, and help maintain configuration-controlled engineering artifacts
• Contribute to automation, scripting, or tooling to improve engineering productivity and repeatability
• Travel as needed (up to ~10%) for meetings, labs, or field activities

Minimum qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria:

• Be completing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Degree major: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a very closely related STEM field
• U.S. citizenship is required and candidate must be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (Final DoD clearance required to start)
• Ability to obtain Special Access Program access within a reasonable timeframe, as required for program needs
• Willingness/ability to travel up to 10% for work-related activities

Preferred qualifications

• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
• Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools, systems modeling languages, or simulation environments
• Familiarity with software development workflows, scripting (Python, MATLAB, etc.), or configuration management systems
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills

Compensation & benefits

• Salary range (Bachelors): $80,100 - $102,000 per year (range provided by the client)
• Relocation assistance may be available depending on program and business needs

Location & security clearance

• Work location: Baltimore, MD (onsite at the client’s Mission Systems sector)
• Clearance: SECRET-level clearance required; Final DoD clearance required to start. U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite. Special Access Program eligibility will be required and must be obtainable in a reasonable period.
