What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Associate Data Steward to support data governance and stewardship activities. In this hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC, you will work under the guidance of senior data team members to help maintain data quality, metadata, and documentation while learning governance processes and tools.
- Learn and apply organizational data governance policies and standards
- Assist with data quality monitoring, identifying issues, and documenting remediation steps
- Support metadata management and data documentation tasks (data dictionaries, lineage notes)
- Participate in user training, knowledge-sharing, and governance awareness programs
- Follow established procedures to complete governance tasks and maintain audit-ready records
- Collaborate with data teams and business stakeholders to understand processes, data flows, and usage
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who is analytical, curious, and comfortable learning technical tools in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business and data analysis skills; able to document complex business processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, functions)
- Experience writing queries in SQL; familiarity with SQL Server (2008 R2 or similar) preferred
- Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and solid organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and seek guidance from senior team members
- Comfortable adapting to evolving priorities in a dynamic work environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or related field preferred; 0–1 years relevant experience acceptable
Compensation & Logistics
- Base salary range: $65,000–$81,000 (annual)
- Employment type: Full-time, hybrid schedule — candidates must be local to Charlotte, NC and able to work the required hybrid schedule in-office as needed
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; Confidential Client is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role
