Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Data Scientist (anticipated start 2027) to join an AI & Data Analytics team in Schiller Park, IL. This entry-level role is ideal for recent university hires or early-career data practitioners who want hands-on experience building analytics, machine learning, GenAI and agentic AI workflows for clients across industries. The role includes structured learning, mentorship, and opportunities to work in cross-functional teams.


What You’ll Do

You will apply statistics, machine learning, and data science techniques to solve business problems and support GenAI / agentic AI workflows. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, cleanse, join and analyze structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data for analytics, ML and GenAI workflows
  • Implement and validate predictive, prescriptive, statistical, and ML models focused on measurable client outcomes
  • Design experiments, feature sets, prompts, and evaluation datasets to assess model outputs, bias, reliability, and business value
  • Build and evaluate GenAI, RAG, and agentic AI workflows (retrieval quality, grounding, generated responses, and end-to-end agent performance)
  • Collaborate in Agile teams with data engineers, AI engineers, consultants, architects and DBAs to deliver responsible AI solutions
  • Translate technical results into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and model monitoring to support production readiness

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, candidates should have:

  • High School Diploma/GED required (Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field)
  • Strong fundamentals in mathematics, statistics, algorithms and analytical reasoning
  • Familiarity with programming in Python, SQL, R, or similar languages
  • Foundational knowledge of predictive/statistical modeling, machine learning, and GenAI / agentic AI concepts
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms and data/AI platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or similar)
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, collaboration and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%, depending on project needs
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship (no sponsorship provided)

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred experience and exposure include:

  • Course projects, internships, or portfolio work involving data science, ML, GenAI or agentic AI
  • Familiarity with LLMs, embeddings, vector DBs, retrieval systems, RAG and prompt workflows
  • Exposure to orchestration/agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen) or similar tooling
  • Experience or familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, model evaluation, observability, MLOps/LLMOps, CI/CD and APIs
  • Understanding of responsible AI practices, data governance, privacy and security

  • Anticipated start: 2027
  • Travel: up to 100% based on project requirements

Compensation & Benefits
