Overview

This is a Hybrid role (expected on-site 3 days/week) based in Northbrook, IL. The Associate Data Scientist will support the development, testing, and maintenance of data science and analytics solutions that drive productivity across Commercial Operations. You will work with data engineering and IT partners to build automation, self-service analytics, dashboards, and AI-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support AI-enabled solutions and intelligent workflows for Commercial Operations (reporting, planning, pricing, sales ops).
• Build automation workflows and reusable analytics assets to reduce manual effort.
• Assist in developing AI agents, prompt libraries, and tools for operational use cases.
• Prepare and validate data, monitor data quality, and support governed analytics foundations.
• Create dashboards, data models, and analytical solutions using Power BI, SQL, Python, and related tools.
• Analyze large, complex datasets to extract insights and recommend techniques or models.
• Select features, build and optimize classifiers and other machine learning models.
• Perform data mining, modeling and evaluation to find patterns and predict outcomes.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis and present results clearly to stakeholders.
• Document solutions and promote knowledge transfer to ensure maintainability and governance.
• Partner with Commercial Operations pillars and IT to identify opportunities for automation and scalable insight delivery.
• Participate in experimentation and prototyping of emerging AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and model development.
• Strong SQL skills and experience querying databases.
• Experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI (or similar BI tools).
• Familiarity with common machine learning techniques (clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.) and their real-world tradeoffs.
• Experience with data preparation, cleansing, and validating large datasets.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with an emphasis on product-focused outcomes.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to present technical results to non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable working in a small, cross-functional team and contributing to strategic goals.

Compensation & Benefits (Estimated)

• Estimated base salary range: $62,500 to $75,000 USD per year.
• This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation (target ~5% of base).

• Paid time off: vacation (15 days), holidays & personal days (12 days total), and sick time (72 hours).
