Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Cyber Systems Engineer for an entry-level role supporting space and defense-related systems in Boulder, CO. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at the time of application, and involves systems integration, verification, and testing activities. Relocation assistance may be available. Travel is expected (approximately 25%).
What You’ll Do
Confidential Client seeks engineers who can translate requirements into testable system solutions and support end-to-end system lifecycle activities, from concept through disposal. Typical responsibilities include:
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability analyses across hardware and software subsystems.
- Conduct functional analyses, timeline analyses, and detailed trade studies.
- Allocate requirements and define interfaces to ensure customer needs are converted into actionable specifications.
- Support integration, test, and verification of software and system requirements.
- Present test plans and results to stakeholders and act in Test Director roles as required.
- Contribute to technical and programmatic documentation and reviews.
Basic Qualifications
To be considered, candidates must meet ALL of the following at time of application:
- Possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Be completing or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD from an accredited institution.
- Major (or have majored) in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- Have a basic understanding of testing requirements and test execution.
- Demonstrate the ability to present to customers in a Test Director or equivalent role.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for positions requiring government clearance.

- Strong written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for working with engineering teams, management, customers, partners, and government stakeholders.
- Experience translating technical concepts and program information for customers and non‑technical stakeholders.

- Experience preparing or reviewing technical and programmatic documentation.
- Hands-on experience in integration, test, and verification of software requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (posted): $83,800 — $125,800 per year.
- Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and eligibility for long-term incentives depending on level.
