What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Cyber Software Engineer to join a mission-focused team delivering secure, high‑impact software for mission systems. In this role you'll contribute to the full software lifecycle — from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing and integration — while following modern engineering practices.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software for processing-intensive analytics, real‑time systems, and large data sets.
  • Analyze user requirements and derive software design and performance specifications.
  • Design and code new features or modify existing software using C#, C/C++, Java, and/or Python.
  • Debug, troubleshoot and resolve software defects; document findings and test results.
  • Integrate software into new or modified systems and operating environments; evaluate COTS/GOTS reuse.
  • Create simple data queries for databases and data repositories.
  • Work on Agile teams and contribute to process and documentation improvements.
  • Collaborate across engineering, test, and system teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must meet the following minimums:

  • MUST CURRENTLY HAVE AN ACTIVE TS/SCI WITH FULL-SCOPE POLYGRAPH TO START.
  • POLYGRAPH must be through the state of Maryland.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited college/university — typically a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial transcripts required at time of application).
  • Experience or coursework using one or more of: C#, C/C++, Java, Python.
  • Experience developing software on Agile teams.
  • Strong collaboration, creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and software design methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing user requirements into software design and performance requirements.
  • Familiarity with CNO development concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to recommend process/documentation improvements and implement them.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (Level 1): $96,700 – $103,800 per year.
  • Adzuna estimate shown for similar roles: ~$109,378/year (estimated).
  • Benefits may include health insurance, life and disability coverage, retirement savings plans, paid holidays and PTO, and eligibility for discretionary bonuses depending on position.
  • Overtime, shift differential, and long-term incentives may apply for certain roles.

Location & Clearance

  • Work location: Annapolis Junction, MD (on-site).
  • Travel: Approximately 10% of the time.
  • Relocation assistance: May be available.
  • Hiring requires active TS/SCI with full‑scope polygraph (Maryland) at start. Candidates without the required clearance will not be considered.
