What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Consultant for a 12-month rotational development program within its Implementation organization. This entry-level consulting role combines hands-on technical work, client-facing activities, and formal training to prepare you for a full-time role as an Implementation Consultant (IC) or Technical Implementation Consultant (TIC) after program completion.

Key responsibilities:

• Respond to technical assistance requests via phone, email, or in-person (remote or on-site).
• Support requirements gathering, documentation, workflow analysis and design, and configuration under the Implementation Manager’s guidance.
• Develop and execute test cases, perform unit testing, and participate in prototyping and end-user training.
• Diagnose software issues and recommend solutions; assist on 2–3 full-cycle functional or technical implementation projects as a billable team member.
• Shadow experienced staff on implementation or upgrade projects to learn client engagement and delivery practices.
• Conduct research, prepare resolution reports, and maintain detailed logs of customer interactions.
• Build working knowledge of core application modules such as Blotter, Manager Workbench, Compliance, and Post Trade.
• Grow technical skills for data mapping, upgrades and basic interface configuration.
• Complete assigned training and other related tasks; work with an assigned mentor throughout the rotational term.

Qualifications

Education & preferred background:

• Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science preferred) or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytical Finance, Economics, or related technical/analytical fields.
• Interest or internship experience in financial technology or software services is a plus.

Skills and attributes we value:

• Demonstrated leadership, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Effective communication with internal and external partners.
• Familiarity with technical tools such as ETL tools, SOAP/XML, RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server, Sybase), Java, C#, Windows and UNIX (Solaris, Linux).
• Exposure to SCM (Subversion, Perforce), scripting (Perl, R), and reading/writing DTDs is advantageous.

Additional requirements:

• Willingness to travel approximately 30–40% to client sites as a full-time Implementation or Technical Implementation Consultant.
• This role may be performed remotely (telecommute) or on-site in Burlington, MA as needed.

Compensation & Logistics

• Employment type: Full time (CONTRACTOR + FULL_TIME per source).
• Location: Burlington, MA (telecommute available).
• Salary range (posted): $70,000 - $118,750 per year. This range applies to the primary location; if you ultimately work outside the primary location, the applicable range may differ.
• Travel: ~30–40% to client sites.
