Role Summary

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Commercial Sourcing Advisor (Intern to Full-Time Conversion) based in Wilmington, CA. This entry-level supply chain / sourcing role supports strategic sourcing, contract development, supplier management, and commercial analysis. The position begins as an internship with the potential to convert to full-time employment.


What You’ll Do

This role is focused on developing and executing commercial sourcing strategies and supporting contracting and supplier performance across assigned business units.

  • Develop and implement regional/local sourcing strategies and decision summaries based on sourcing events and negotiation outcomes
  • Lead bid package development through purchase order execution, aligning stakeholders on scope, assumptions, and clarifications
  • Participate in vendor pre-bid meetings and site walks; drive the commercial aspects of RFPs
  • Prepare and negotiate terms and conditions for service and supply agreements; maintain rate sheets and master agreements
  • Perform benchmarking, root cause analysis, total cost of ownership evaluations, and should-cost modeling to support sourcing decisions
  • Serve as an advisor to business units on contract compliance, risk mitigation, and performance improvement
  • Identify opportunities for value creation (cost savings, avoidance, revenue enhancement) and execute sourcing or cost-savings projects
  • Facilitate supplier performance issue resolution and develop KPIs where appropriate
  • Use Supply Chain tools and systems and collaborate with peers to drive continuous improvement

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Entry-level experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, commercial advisory, contract administration, or contract management
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with commercial and financial data
  • Effective written and verbal communication; able to coordinate across cross-functional teams

Preferred / Technical Skills

  • Experience with or exposure to SAP, Ariba, Tableau, Microsoft 365, TRACK (or similar systems)
  • Familiarity with RFP/RFI processes, supplier qualification, and contract lifecycle management
  • Ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and project execution ability

Location, Hours & Employment Type

  • Location: Wilmington, CA (onsite / regional travel as required)
  • Employment type: Internship with planned conversion to Full-Time (INTERNSHIP → FULL_TIME)
  • Salary range (provided by client): $61,200.00 - $91,600.00 per year
