Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Commercial Data Scientist to join its Commercial Analytics practice. This is an early-career, client-facing analytics role where you'll apply statistical methods and machine learning to solve go-to-market and sales strategy problems. You'll work alongside consultants and analytics peers to develop, present, and operationalize data-driven recommendations for clients across B2B industries.

What You’ll Do

• Support consulting teams by translating business questions into analytic approaches and delivering actionable insights
• Develop, prototype, test, and help deploy machine learning models for regression, classification, clustering, and segmentation
• Work with datasets of varied scale — from small samples to very large (billions of rows) — using modern data engineering and modeling best practices
• Advise teams on data acquisition, ETL, data hygiene, feature engineering, and model validation
• Create clear visualizations and slide decks to present findings to internal and external stakeholders
• Participate in client meetings, present analytic approaches, and interpret results in business terms
• Contribute to practice development: standardizing modeling approaches, documenting case studies, and onboarding materials

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree with strong academic performance; coursework in mathematics, statistics, economics, data science, or computer science preferred
• 1+ years of professional experience in a data analytics or data science role (internships and relevant projects count)
• Familiarity with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms for regression and classification
• Proficiency in open-source data science languages such as Python or R
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills for analysis and client presentations
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work on several project streams
• Excellent problem-solving ability and business acumen
• Strong interpersonal skills, comfort working in teams, and effective written and verbal communication
• Quick learner with a high degree of motivation, flexibility, and intellectual curiosity
• Willingness to travel for client work, sometimes on short notice

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $90,000 - $100,000 per year
• Bonus eligible

Location & Travel

• This position supports client work across multiple U.S. offices and markets, including Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, and San Francisco. Final work location will be discussed during the hiring process.
• Travel required at times for client meetings and project work.
