What You’ll Do

As an Associate Claim Representative (Inside Auto) you will learn claim handling fundamentals and provide customer-facing service while you train. This is an entry-level development role in a structured 9–12 month program that prepares you to manage auto and related property damage claims. Key responsibilities include:

• Participate in structured training (virtual, classroom, on-the-job) covering policy interpretation, claim processes, systems, and procedures.
• Assess coverage and determine claim compensability.
• Investigate claims by collecting information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses and other sources.
• Coordinate with internal and external resources to obtain evidence and assess potential fraud.
• Establish appropriate claim reserves, calculate resolution amounts, and issue accurate payments.
• Create and execute action plans to resolve claims in a timely manner.
• Communicate claim status to all parties (insureds, claimants, business customers) professionally and clearly.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in claim management systems.
• Embrace ongoing learning, including new tools, AI-assisted workflows, system upgrades, and digital transformations.
• Acquire and maintain required insurance license(s) per state and client policy within the required timeframe (typically within three months).
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the claim team and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications and skills for success in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required).
• Previous internship or experience in customer service, insurance, or related fields is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with frequent phone and written customer interactions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willing to learn claims management systems.
• Good judgement and the ability to make decisions within established authority levels.
• Strong customer service orientation and commitment to positive claimant/insured experiences.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities.
• Basic conflict resolution and negotiation skills; eagerness to learn advanced techniques.
• Openness to continuous learning, including digital tools and AI-enabled workflows.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
• Willingness and ability to obtain an adjuster/claims license where required by state law.

Compensation & Location

• Salary range: $45,400.00 — $74,900.00 per year (national market range). The exact offer will depend on location, experience, skills, and other factors permitted under applicable law.
• Work model: Hybrid — the role supports a mix of in-office and remote work; local office is in the Cockeysville / Hunt Valley, MD area (21065).
• This posting includes a training program (typically 9–12 months) with development toward independent claims handling.
