Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Buyer to support its Global Supply Chain team. This role primarily supports contract procurement activities — managing requisitions and purchase orders from placement through receipt and invoice approval. The position is telecommute-eligible with an authoritative location of Reston, VA.

What You’ll Do

• Provide end-to-end procurement support: review purchase requisitions, place orders, track deliveries, and support invoice approval.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audits.
• Research and recommend cost-effective purchase arrangements and suppliers.
• Manage supplier performance and communicate proactively to ensure adherence to purchase order terms.
• Track and audit hardware recapitalization, maintenance agreements, and software licensing.
• Coordinate delivery schedules and resolve purchase-order related issues.
• Collaborate with internal customers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure timely fulfillment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education, training, or relevant experience.
• Generally less than 2 years of professional procurement or supply chain experience (or equivalent internships/military experience).
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Clear oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new processes quickly.
• Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Costpoint or similar ERP/purchasing systems.
• Knowledge of government contracting and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
• Experience negotiating terms and conditions and managing supplier agreements.
• Familiarity with build-to-print, fabricated parts, and components.

Compensation & Work Type

• Pay Range: $45,500 – $82,250 per year (Confidential Client pay range; final offer depends on experience, skills, and other factors).
• Estimated median (external data): ~$64,276 per year.
• Employment Type: Full-time.
• Work Location: Telecommute-eligible. Authoritative location: Reston, VA, US.
