Overview
Confidential Client is seeking entry-level Associate Automation Specialist(s) to provide hands-on, shift-based support for automated manufacturing equipment and operational technology (OT) systems in a MedTech / vision-focused engineering environment. This role supports production-floor troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, routine system checks, documentation and cross-functional coordination to keep automated lines running reliably.
What You’ll Do
- Provide hands-on automation and OT support for manufacturing operations during assigned shifts.
- Respond to and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, communications, computer and network connectivity issues, and automated equipment faults.
- Perform routine system checks, approved resets, backups, basic testing, and configuration activities per standard procedures.
- Document work performed, communicate equipment status, and provide clear information during shift handoffs.
- Execute assigned preventive maintenance activities and scheduled inspections for automated equipment and OT systems.
- Perform backups, functional checks and other scheduled maintenance tasks using approved procedures.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and communicate opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Follow applicable safety, quality, change-control, data-integrity, and cybersecurity requirements when supporting equipment and OT systems.
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, IT, and external suppliers to restore and maintain equipment operation.
- Support automation projects, equipment upgrades, testing, and start-up activities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field is required — or candidates must be on track to complete their degree by December 2026.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience. Recent graduates and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply. Internship, apprenticeship, co-op, academic project, laboratory, maintenance, or other hands-on technical experience is highly valued.
- Availability to work overtime and varied schedules, including 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekends and holidays.
Preferred / Valuable Experience
- Experience with PLC or industrial control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, etc.).
- Experience with HMI or SCADA applications (Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, etc.).
- Hands-on exposure to industrial equipment, sensors, instrumentation, robotics, electrical systems, or communications.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, software, networking, and technical troubleshooting.
- Experience in regulated environments (GMP, validation, data integrity) and technical documentation practices.
- Exposure to industrial networking, OT systems, data collection, or reporting systems.
Compensation & Schedule
- Estimated annual salary (provided by source): $61,538 per year — estimated.
- Employment type: Full-time, permanent; hourly position with shift-based schedule.
- Onsite role; shift work expected across 1st/2nd/3rd shifts with potential overtime, weekends and holidays.

- Work location: Reparto Daguey, Puerto Rico.
