About the role

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Application Developer in Baton Rouge, LA. This is an entry-level, full-time role on a hybrid schedule (typically 4 days in the office per week, dependent on project needs) focused on application modernization, cloud-enabled solutions, and enterprise platforms. You will join a Tech & Red Hat practice supporting clients across industries while receiving mentorship, structured training, and certification opportunities.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of modern applications and cloud-native solutions.
• Work on client projects in sectors such as healthcare, financial services, public sector, automotive, energy, retail, and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—developers, architects, consultants, and AI specialists—to deliver production-grade software.
• Learn and apply software development fundamentals: writing code, building APIs, working with databases, and using version control.
• Participate in structured learning paths, earn certifications, and receive mentorship and career coaching.
• Support application modernization, automation, and hybrid cloud deployments (including Red Hat/Open-source stacks).

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently completing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, plus basic SQL knowledge.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, application architecture, APIs, and databases.
• Exposure to application, data, or cloud-related projects through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects.
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools.
• A growth mindset, curiosity about enterprise technologies and AI, and willingness to learn.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Experience

• Exposure to open-source tools and platforms, containers, or cloud-native development.
• Familiarity with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, or infrastructure automation concepts.
• Interest in hybrid cloud, Red Hat technologies, and continuous learning.
• Hands-on projects, hackathons, internships, or personal software projects that demonstrate applied skills.
