What You’ll Do

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking an Associate Application Developer to join an IT consulting practice focused on ServiceNow, cloud, and AI-enabled solutions. This is an early-career role that will work across the full software lifecycle to deliver scalable, secure, and user-centered applications.

  • Work across the full system architecture to design, develop, test, and support high-quality, scalable products and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and define technical specifications for ServiceNow and generative AI projects.
  • Use design thinking and engineering best practices to deliver secure, performant, and usable products.
  • Build UI components, mockups, algorithms, and backend services as part of deliverable solutions.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases, modern UI frameworks, and multiple OS platforms depending on project needs.
  • Leverage AI assistants (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) responsibly to research, prototype, and increase productivity while validating outputs.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprints, standups, backlog grooming) and adapt to iterative delivery and changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% as project assignments require.

Required qualifications

  • Demonstrated programming experience with one or more of: JavaScript, Java, C++, Python, Scala, R, SAS, SQL, HTML, Angular, ReactJS, or similar languages/frameworks.
  • Strong fundamentals in systems design, software development, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Exposure to web application development concepts (front-end and/or back-end).
  • Foundational knowledge of JavaScript (functions, loops, arrays, objects/JSON, async concepts).
  • Foundational exposure to at least one of: .NET/ASP.NET, C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript.
  • Experience or comfort working in Agile team structures.
  • Familiarity with using AI productivity tools while applying critical thinking and validation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed for client engagements.
  • High school diploma / GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Preferred / Nice-to-have

  • Coursework or degree majors in MIS, CS, Business Analytics, Data Science, AI, Economics, UX design, or Web Development.
  • Familiarity with generative AI modeling, ethics, and methodologies.
  • Exposure to microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL, Postgres, DB2) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Salesforce, Oracle, Adobe, or other enterprise platforms.
  • Understanding of ITIL concepts (incident, problem, change, request management).
  • Ability to move across front-end and back-end workstreams.

Estimated compensation & employment details

  • Employment type: FULL_TIME
  • Estimated pay: $101,548 per year (estimated). Actual pay may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
  • Anticipated start timeframe: positions expected to begin in 2027.
  • This role does not provide visa sponsorship now or in the future. You must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
