Roles & Responsibilities

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate AI Solutions Architect to join their AI and mission-enablement efforts. This entry-level technical contributor will work under the guidance of senior staff to help mission teams adopt approved AI tools, workflows, and secure development environments.

• Support technical and mission-user discussions: ask clarifying questions, document objectives, workflows, data needs, and constraints for review by senior staff.
• Implement, test, and document defined components of AI-enabled applications and workflows using approved tools, APIs, data sources, and existing solution patterns with guidance.
• Follow established security, data-handling, and responsible-AI procedures; document results, limitations, and escalate issues when needed.
• Troubleshoot basic application, API, data, or environment problems using established procedures and record findings.
• Adapt prompt examples, starter kits, workflow components, and templates for assigned use cases; maintain clear setup instructions and reproducible examples.
• Support demonstrations, training materials, office hours, hands-on experiments, and routine user support; capture user feedback to improve guidance.
• Build relationships with AI Enablement colleagues, mission users, and supporting platform/security teams; communicate progress and complete assigned tasks.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, AI, ML, data science, software engineering, systems engineering, or related technical field — or equivalent education/experience. No prior full-time professional experience required.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government security clearance within one year of hire.
• Foundational knowledge of programming, software development, data handling, and AI/ML concepts demonstrated via coursework, projects, internships, research, or similar experience.
• Basic technical familiarity with applied AI, AI/ML workflows, LLM tools or APIs, software services, or developer environments and the ability to learn approved tools and established practices.
• Ability to implement and test defined technical tasks, document results, and follow existing examples or procedures with guidance.
• Strong communication skills: receive and apply feedback, ask clarifying questions, and clearly report progress to team members and users.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule with a minimum on-site presence of 3 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework, projects, internships, or research in applied AI or machine learning.
• Exposure to LLM APIs, enterprise AI tools, agentic workflows, retrieval-enabled systems, or AI-assisted software development.
• Hands-on practice building or testing AI-enabled applications, prompt workflows, API integrations, retrieval prototypes, or data-processing components (Python or similar).
• Experience creating tutorials, demos, README files, setup instructions, reusable examples, or test cases.
• Familiarity with version control, automated testing, containers, cloud services, or software delivery practices.
• Awareness of access controls, data sensitivity, and secure computing practices.
• Experience preparing, cleaning, organizing, or retrieving data for analysis.
• Active Secret clearance (a plus).

Clearance, Compensation & Work Type

• Clearance: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within one year of hire. (Some candidates may already hold an active Secret clearance.)
• Salary range (annual): $97,600 - $146,400 (midpoint $122,000).
• Employment type: Full-time.
• Work location type: Hybrid, with a minimum on-site presence of 3 days per week in Pimmit, VA.
