Role summary
Confidential Client is seeking an Associate AI Product Developer to design, test, and help deliver AI-powered products, workflows, and prototypes in complex, data-rich environments. This hands-on, early-career role partners with product, engineering, data, governance, and domain teams to move AI concepts from prototypes to production-quality features.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and iterate AI-powered products, workflows, prototypes, and automation solutions that solve real user problems.
- Translate business and user needs into clear requirements, workflows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Configure, test, and refine model behavior in partnership with engineering and product teams; evaluate outputs for quality, reliability, and failure modes.
- Identify edge cases, UX gaps, trust concerns (e.g., hallucinations, bias), and performance trade-offs; recommend mitigations.
- Use testing results, analytics, and user feedback to continuously improve AI capabilities post-launch.
- Support demos, presentations, and stakeholder communications that explain model behavior and product trade-offs.
- Work with governance and risk teams to ensure products meet compliance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current on emerging AI tools, model capabilities, and AI-native product patterns; document and share best practices.
Qualifications & experience
- 1–3 years of experience in AI product development, applied AI, data products, product analytics, UX, or a related product/technical role.
- Hands-on experience building or supporting AI-powered products, prototypes, automation tools, or AI platforms.
- Practical ability to convert complex problems into clear requirements, workflows, and testable outcomes.
- Working knowledge of AI system behavior, including output variability, latency, hallucinations, and quality trade-offs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience identifying edge cases and measuring model outputs.
- Familiarity with user behavior and UX principles applied to AI experiences.
- Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and clearly communicate product decisions.
- Awareness of responsible AI principles (transparency, fairness, human oversight) and how to apply them.
- Exposure to product analytics, APIs, automation tools, or low-code/no-code platforms is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
Compensation & benefits
- Anticipated base salary: $98,900 - $164,900 (range may vary by location).
- This role is eligible for annual incentive / bonus programs and standard employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, retirement savings / 401(k) options, paid time off, and other programs) consistent with Confidential Client policies.
- Individual compensation will be set based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
