Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Associate Accountant, Fund Accounting to join their fund accounting team in South Boston, MA. This is a full-time, contract opportunity ideal for recent graduates or early-career accounting professionals who want hands-on experience with NAV calculations, reconciliations, and investment transaction processing.


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly fund accounting records
  • Assist in calculating and verifying Net Asset Values (NAVs) for investment funds
  • Reconcile cash, securities, and other balance sheet accounts
  • Monitor and resolve accounting breaks and reconciliation discrepancies
  • Process and review investment transactions (purchases, sales, income, corporate actions)
  • Follow internal controls, policies, and operating procedures
  • Participate in process-improvement projects to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Prior internship or accounting/finance experience is a plus

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity, or other investment vehicles
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $43,200 - $64,800 USD (good-faith estimate of base pay)
  • Confidential Client offers a comprehensive benefits package, which may include retirement plans, health and welfare coverage (medical/dental/vision), paid time off, parental/caregiver leave, disability and life insurance, and additional voluntary benefits. A discretionary bonus program may also be available.
