Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Accountant, Fund Accounting (Entry-Level) to join their Fund Accounting team in Boston, MA. This is a contract, full-time opportunity ideal for recent graduates or early-career accounting professionals who want hands-on exposure to investment fund operations, NAV calculation, reconciliations, and transaction processing.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly fund accounting records
- Assist with Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation and verification for investment funds
- Reconcile cash, securities, and other balance sheet accounts
- Investigate and resolve accounting breaks and reconciliation discrepancies
- Process and review investment transactions (purchases, sales, income, corporate actions)
- Follow internal controls, policies, and operating procedures
- Support process-improvement efforts to increase accuracy and reduce operational risk
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work on a team
- Prior internship or accounting/finance experience is a plus
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, or other investment vehicles
- Experience with reconciliation workflows and NAV processes
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on process tasks
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (base): $43,200 — $64,800 USD per year (good-faith estimate)
