What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Assoc Software Engineer to join a Customer Assets Management team focused on customer-facing services and financial systems. You will design, write, test, document, and maintain reliable software that improves the customer experience and supports cloud transformation, platform modernization, and AI-assisted development.
- Apply software development and testing skills to solve a range of problems across environments (dev/test/prod)
- Design, implement, and evaluate code to meet requirements and industry standards
- Troubleshoot system and program malfunctions and restore normal functioning
- Translate business and technical requirements into feasible designs within time and cost constraints
- Participate in team technical discussions, contribute to decisions, and identify improvement opportunities
- Follow Agile delivery processes and maintain a sense of urgency to deliver work
- Support platform modernization efforts, including cloud-native and serverless patterns
- Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and partner teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Location & Work Arrangement
- Location: Dallas, TX (primary)
- This role permits voluntary remote work for the majority of time within the Dallas–Fort Worth area; occasional on-site presence at the corporate campus is required for training, meetings, and business needs. Limited travel may be required.
- U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. is required. The Confidential Client is not able to sponsor work authorization for this role.
Qualifications
Required
- Entry-level experience in software engineering; ability to demonstrate foundational coding, debugging, and testing skills
- High school diploma or GED required (technical degree or coursework preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex, ambiguous problems
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to present ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and complete work successfully in a team environment
Preferred
- Hands-on experience or familiarity with cloud and serverless technologies: S3, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, CloudWatch
- Infrastructure as code: Terraform, CloudFormation
- Datastores and streaming: SQL, DocumentDB (NoSQL), Confluent Kafka
- Languages & frameworks: Python, Java, ReactJS
- CI/CD: GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Caching and data tools: ElastiCache, DMS
- Any exposure to AI-assisted development tools or platform modernization efforts
Education & Experience
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: Coursework or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Required experience level: Entry-level (developing skills and knowledge in software engineering)
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: Competitive market salary from $89,450 to $99,400 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
